Isn't this little newborn sweet? Took her a while to get used to me, but once she did she was wonderful!

Miss {M}

One of the winners of my giveaway from a few months ago was this little beauty. Isn't she the cutest? Ever since this shoot (because of watching this little friend), Lucy has started running everywhere instead of walking. Funny! I love this new location too!

{M} Bridals

This pretty girl rented her wedding dress (how brilliant is that?!), so we took her bridals on Monday, and her wedding was on Thursday. Crazy! Anyway, we had a good time. Here are a couple favorites...

2011 Senior Reps!

I'm trying to get my name out there as a Senior Portrait photographer, so I've decided to do Senior Reps this year. Basically, seniors apply to be selected as the rep for their school. If they are chosen, they get a free senior portrait session, a CD with the images and cards with their pictures and my information to hand out to people at school (for advertising). Plus, anyone that brings a senior rep card back and books a shoot gets a discount too-and the senior the card came from gets cash! It's a fantastic opportunity!

At this point, I'm not putting a limit on how many schools people apply from, so if you know anyone who will be a senior this year (the 2010-2011 school year), please pass on the information!

SOOC and Photo Swap!

I want to apologize to all my recent clients for being so slow getting stuff back to you! It's been crazy around here! I've been trying to finish a huge video project, trying to figure out everything for a summer internship for school, and trying to edit through masses of photos. (:

One thing many non-photographers don't understand, is the time and skill it takes to get a photo processed. I guess I could just copy the images straight to a CD and hand them over, but you would all think I stink at taking pictures. The truth is, there is a lot more to being a great photographer than just taking a good picture in the camera. Don't get me wrong, the SOOC (or straight out of the camera) shot is probably the most important thing. You can't make something terrible look awesome just by photoshopping it. But after you get the shot that has really good exposure and everything else, then you have to go in and tweak it even more to make it really amazing. Let me demonstrate.

I've been able to do this fun swap with the amazingly talented Andrea Child, the photographer behind TeaTree Photography. Isn't she awesome?
She sent me over this shot that she took (an amazing SOOC!) and let me play with it.

And here is my edited version:

Pretty cool, huh? So don't be grumpy if you don't have your pictures back yet. It'll be worth the wait.

Found

I don't really ever post things on here about the video stuff we do. Mostly because I don't really love doing it, I'd rather be taking pictures. But because my dad is a professional film maker, I do know how to run the video cameras, use the professional editing equipment, etc. I do take the video jobs if they come, we just don't go out of our way to advertise for them.

Anyway, I was hired as the videographer for a wedding a few weeks ago. Well, I was also right in the middle of two other video projects, and somehow in all the craziness I LOST one of the two tapes from this wedding! I have never done that before-it is one of the biggest things you have to be careful with in this business. I've been sick over it, and myself, my hubby, and my dad have all been searching for it like crazy.

Well don't even worry. My dad just called and my little sister found the tape in the most random place! I'm so happy I could sing!

That's all. Just wanted to share the happy moment of the day. (:
